COC Intro to Digital Media, 15 weeks, Spring 2011Adam seems remarkably "human" for a teacher. What I mean is that his disposition is similar enough to my own that it feels like more like a familiar acquaintance teaching than a detached stranger. I felt I could relate to him better than most teachers. Not much of an academic accolade, but there it is.

Adam is the epitome of an artist. He finds the extraordinary in the ordinary and helps novice students bring out their artistic side. There is no "wrong" in Adam's eyes, making students feel comfortable – especially when they're new.

Adam Overton is a great professor who has a genuine love and passion for art in all of its mediums. Great teacher who makes learning fun.

Mr. Overton brings an artistic aspect to his teaching that is very refreshing in a technological world. By having an artistic slant on his curriculum he was able to convey a deeper meaning & aspect to the assigned projects.

This class was extremely useful and a very good way to be introduced and become familiar with the complex world of graphic design. Even though we touched only briefly at Photoshop, it really made me want to use it more often in my photography. Also, Illustrator is something that caught my eye.

Professor Overton makes software like Photoshop less intimidating, the projects he assigns are useful in gaining a general knowledge of graphic design, and he truely cares about his students' success.

COC Intro to Digital Media, 15 weeks, Spring 2010Adam is a very passionate teacher who strives for his students' success. I feel his students, myself included, get a great grasp of the material he teaches. I would recommend his classes to other students and gladly take another class taught by him.

He has excellent pulse for how well the students are absorbing the material and adjusts his style to meet their needs.

Which aspects of this class worked for you?

When I began this class I expected it to be a piece of cake and I thought I could easily pass without much effort. Man was I wrong. I learned quickly that in order to learn the content one must become involved with the lectures and practice the concepts on a regular basis. The class became very difficult for me in the beginning weeks, but once I learned what I needed to do, it was easy sailing. The instructor Adam Overton is very professional and true to his word. Once the students became more involved you could clearly see the enthusiasm and great vibe from him. And it was apparent he has a love for cats. I would recommend Adam Overton to teach or be involved in any project relating to this material.

I would highly recommend Mr. Overton to teach many employers and students. He is a very great instructor that teaches programming.

Adam is a very enthusiastic professor who always thoroughly presents to us new materials in a comprehensive level. He makes sure every student is on the right path in grasping the information. His occasional light humor makes the classroom environment very comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend him.

Adam is a very good instructor, his lectures are informative and always introduce new and exciting ways for using scripting. Classes are never boring and he uses methods that keep students on track with homework & taking the time to understand the concepts. He knows a lot and is willing to help you with whatever you throw at him. He also gives great feedback on your work and wants you to not just be a designer but an artist as well.

The class I took with Mr. Overton taught me things I never really ever noticed with art. Learned things I never knew about photoshop and gave me different outlooks on my current & future work. Great teacher.

I like how simple it is to follow along with his teaching. His instructions are easy to comprehend, & even if you don't understand the first time he will keep going in depth till we do.

If you want a teacher who will give you the tools you need to get the job done, and a teacher who will challenge you to look at things in a different way, but at the same time be very resourceful and helpful then I really recommend taking a class with A. Overton.

Master Overton always teaches valuable techniques and relates everything taught to real life situations one would encounter.

Mr. Overton is the best teacher I ever had, he has the best attitude towards the class. I also like the way how he's patient with his class all the time.

I'd really recommend Adam for teaching. He relates everything to both real-world and personal experience to explain artwork and how to create them. I learned to look deeper into the artwork I see and to pay attention to the small details of my own work to make a great piece. Lastly, he'll go above and beyond if you have a question, and if he can't answer it, he'll find out for you. I really mean it when I say he was one of the better teachers here at ITT.

I'd recommend Adam to teach any class. I learned a lot from him. He is down to earth and honestly I hate to see him leave.

Rapid Visualization, ITT Technical Institute, Fall 2007, 11 weeksnote: this was a sketching/drawing class; note that i am not trained in drawing, in fact i stopped drawing when i was probably 8 or 9 because it gave me a headache.
