The Electric Arts Alliance of Atlanta and Georgia State University are proud to present an evening of sonic and visual “Greetings” and “Best Wishes” on Monday, February 17, 2003 at 8 pm at the Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery in Atlanta. This event will include the CD-release party of an Atlanta Sound Postcard created by the French sound art collective, Ouie Dire, as well as a multimedia performance and commentary on Greeting Cards presented by Andy Ditzler, the ADODI Muse Gay Negro Ensemble and the Clayton State College Theater Department. This event is part of the Electric Arts Alliance of Atlanta’s third Monday forum, and marks one full year of Third Monday Electric Arts programming that began in February 2002.

Ouie Dire (pronounced WE-DEAR) is a French sound art collective whose members, clarinetist Xavier Charles, phonographer Jean Pallandre and phonographer Marc Pichelin, travel the world performing and creating Sound Art Postcards by fusing improvisational, instrumental performance with found sounds. They have created 15 sound art postcards (CDs presented in fabricated, mail-able, postcard containers), including "Geneva", "Madrid", "Gresigne Forest", "Paris" and others, and have been commissioned by Georgia State University to produce a sound art post card of Atlanta for the Pulse Field exhibition while in residency at GSU during February 2003. This live performance at Eyedrum will be the CD release party for Ouie Dire’s Atlanta sound art postcard and will include a live performance by the group.

Electric artist Andy Ditzler will be presenting two collaborative, multimedia works, “Arch” and “From Both of Us”, in honor of Valentine's Day and other “socially sanctioned forms of intimacy.” Written and performed by Larry Corse and Andy Ditzler, “Arch” references a February 2002 expedition of four friends who marched up the Champs D'Elysees in Paris, France, and climbed to the top of the Arc de Triomphe where Larry Corse exchanged vows with his partner. Part live performance and part field recording, "Arch" explores issues of identity, culture, and the work of memory in the age of digital reproduction. The other piece, "From Both of Us", is a multimedia work written and performed by ADODI Muse: A Gay Negro Ensemble, along with Larry Corse, Andy Ditzler, and Greg Hampikian. “Amidst a landscape of shifting rhythmic loops, various shoppers attempt to find just the right greeting card for the occasion. Perhaps unsurprisingly, some of these shoppers do not fit into the premarketed card categories and must write their own cards.”
