ARTIST TALK: MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 2003, 8 PM
EYEDRUM ART AND MUSIC GALLERY, ATLANTA, GA
The Electric Arts Alliance of Atlanta (EAAA) and Georgia State University are proud to present the L'Objet Sonore Artist Talk as part of the EAAA's 3rd Monday forum at the Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery in Atlanta. L'Objet Sonore is an exhibition of visually and aurally striking Sound Objects ranging from kinetic sculpture to installation, some of which react to the environment or the occasional performer, all created by a host of local, national, and international artists from Atlanta, Boston, New York, Quebec, England and France. L'Objet Sonore is presented in tandem with Georgia State University's sound art exhibition, Pulse Field, which is currently being exhibited in the GSU art galleries.
L'Objet Sonore artists that will be participating in Monday night's Artist Talk will include Marshall Avett (Atlanta, GA), Xan Deeb (Atlanta, GA), Will Eccleston (Atlanta, GA), Chantelle Minarcine (Atlanta, GA), Douglas Repetto (New York, NY), and Charlie Smith (Atlanta, GA). Curator Adam Overton will also present material and lead discussion related to the pieces of the absentee artists from Quebec, France and England.
Support for L'Objet Sonore and Pulse Field comes from The Cultural Service of the French Embassy, Georgia State University, The Columbia University Computer Music Center, the Council of Arts and Letters of Quebec, West Midlands Arts (England) and Eyedrum.
