Seaberg Acrobatic Poetry

Ronnog and Steve Seaberg, Atlanta , GA

Three poems representing electrity as a metaphor.

1. Inner Electrity. Original electrity was given to us from heaven.
2. Death. Electricity is developed. We search in the dark by the light of a miner's lamp.
3. Connected. This is where we are now standing.

"Counting"

Cecelia Kane

In her multi-media performance, "Counting," 12-year-old Cece bogs down in the details. Her mind and body are the battleground between impure thoughts and immodest feelings. Sister Charitina, Sister Mary Annunciata and God coach perfection from the sidelines, ready to find more boxes and more ways to burn in hell for all eternity. Cece survives by counting and fidgeting, thinking and feeling.

BIO AS RECIPE FOR THE ARTIST CECELIA KANE:

*Add one M.F.A. in drawing and painting
*Stir in a bachelor's degree in Sociology.
*Blend together a healthy dose of video, performance art, painting and photography.
*Stir in an obsession with ritual, the circus and the meaning of death.
*Add a dollop of humor
*Garnish with costumes, masks, puppets and storytelling.
*Season with a commitment to community building and social justice.

Heat until golden.

Looping BUTOH
White Crane Style

Looping BUTOH is a piece that references the slow, deliberate process of digestion. The piece aims at being absorbed viscerally, as well—not analyzed through the head.

The piece is realized in video, sound, and movement. Kevin Hoth conceptualized, shot (except for the filming of his torso, which Blake did!), and edited the video component. He also contributes sound snippets manipulated on a laptop computer and live camera work. Colin Bragg is the main sound master, and contributes his skills playing, recording, sampling, and mixing. He will also do some live sampling and sound manipulation for the piece. Blake Dalton is the mover in the work, contrasting the technological aspects and performing his own intention of deliberation via the organic body form. Blake also contributes his skills in throat-singing and amplified dulcimer strumming.

Colin Bragg is a musician and composer.

Blake Dalton is a professional dancer, martial artist, and performance artist.

Kevin J. Hoth is a video and performance artist, photographer, and web designer.

The Man in the Middle.

a study in self-consciousness

Andy Ditzler

Borders, Exiles, Panics: Apologetics

A performative newsflash brought to you by Robert Cheatham, Richard Gess, and Kevin Haller.
In your heart you know you're sorry for everything you've ever done. If you're not...why, then you should be ashamed.

Hair.Ritual.No.38

Adam Overton

I am two people.

I am the outer, corporal man who intuits and acts with an automatism unique.

I am the inner, reasonable man who thinks and feels and decides.

Inner and outer meet: a watery surface reflecting ego inwards, outwards, upwards.

I find the ritual of cutting my hair cleansing and liberating.

I find the ritual of cutting my hair pointless and empty.

Transformation in three easy steps.

Going nowhere in notime the same as I ever was.

Shen-hsiu wrote:

            This body is the Bodhi-tree,
            The soul is like a mirror bright;
Take heed to keep it always clean,
And let not dust collect on it.

Hui-neng responded:

The Bodhi is not like the tree,
            The mirror bright is nowhere shining;
As there is nothing from the first,
Where can the dust itself collect?

The Electric Arts Alliance of Atlanta (EAAA)

The EAAA is a forum dedicated to the transmission of ideas, music and visual art that utilize electronic means and methods to create and manipulate sound and light.  The EAAA presents an opportunity for artists to present their current work in the domain of audio and visual experimentation, while also serving as a place for artists of all disciplines to meet and exchange ideas, with the hope that such contact will stimulate further creation, collaboration, and exploration.  The EAAA meets every third Monday of the month at Atlanta’s Eyedrum art and music gallery and is open to proposals for performance, presentation, and discussion that highlight individual and collaborative involvement in the electric arts of Atlanta.
