Nat Slaughter, Jonathan Smiley & Franklin Lopez
AT EYEDRUM, MONDAY, AUGUST 19, 2002, 8 PM
The Electric Arts Alliance of Atlanta (EAAA) is proud to present performances by Nat Slaughter, Jonathan Smiley and Franklin Lopez at Eyedrum on Monday, August 19th at 8 pm. Nat Slaughter is a composer/artist from Atlanta, Georgia. and will be premiering the three movement, multi-channel composition, straight lines, which was realized in Csound4.05 using audio and film recordings from Thailand, China, and Italy. Local circuit-bender and musician Jonathan Smiley will be teaming up with Atlanta video artist Franklin Lopez to perform “a live multimedia barrage encompassing image, sound and biofeedback.” Smiley’s interesting arsenal of circuit bent devices and homemade static synthesizers will not only provide the sonic treatment for the performance but will also be used as the raw visual material fed into Lopez’s video mixing environment for further sculpting.

The Electric Arts Alliance of Atlanta (EAAA)
The EAAA is a forum dedicated to the discussion and transmission of ideas, music and visual art that utilize electronic means and methods to create and manipulate sound and light. The EAAA presents an opportunity for artists to present their current work in the domain of audio and visual experimentation, while also serving as a place for artists of all disciplines to meet and exchange ideas, with hopes that such contact will stimulate further creation, collaboration, and exploration. The EAAA meets every third Monday of the month at Atlanta’s Eyedrum art and music gallery and is open to proposals for performance, presentation, and discussion that highlight individual and collaborative involvement in the electric arts of Atlanta.
