Los Angeles, CA, May 27, 2007 - From the innocent to the hypnotic, from quiet to noise, this week at Dangerous Curve we've got a lot of percussionists, a guitar player, and an ambidextrous drawer as part of our New Music series "Is It Music?" The boundaries of music get pushed here, but in a good, expansive way. If you've not experienced new music, or new music here, then it's time to do so. Uplift your spirit!
The evening of Thursday, June 7, 2007, starting at 8:00 p.m., we will present the delightful duo ing http://myspace.com/ingtree and their secret TBA co-act. They will be doing quiet music (no drums here!).
The evening of Friday, June 8, 2007, starting at 8:00 p.m., we will present a duo of percussionists Marcos Fernandes http://www.marcosfernandes.com, http://www.myspace.com/marcosrfernandes and Robert Montoya http://www.myspace.com/robertm2006, plus a solo noise artist Raven Chacon http://music.calarts.edu/~rchacon.
The afternoon of Sunday, June 10, 2007, starting at 4:00 p.m., we will have percussionists Brad Dutz http://braddutz.com and T.J. Troy http://tjtroy.com, the group OGOGO http://igorogogo.com, and then T.J. Troy http://tjtroy.com with visual artist Sayo Mitsuishi.
As always, beverages will be served, and most of the times, a great art show will be up.
We're located two miles from Chinatown, at 1020 East Fourth Place, between Molino and Mateo Streets, in the back of the 500 Molino Street Lofts, #102, between the Fourth Street Bridge's (on the LA River side of downtown) two on/off ramps. See our website http://dangerouscurve.org for directions, pictures, and updates.
More about the Musicians/Artists
ing http://myspace.com/ingtree, www.ingismaxandjohn.com are Max Markowitz and John Wood. Innocence abounds with these two truly evolved spirits. They raise yours by putting you at the doorstep of the gods. The Golden Years never left these guys, even though they went to Cal Arts. They just ended a stint with their Origins of the Rainbow series at Machine Project http://www.machineproject.com/past.

Brad Dutz http://braddutz.com can play just about anything percussive, with the greatest intensity and performative presence. A Berklee grad, he toured with Maynard Ferguson and has played with lots of folks, from KISS to Jeff Bridges. We always welcome him, along with any of the multifarious groups to which he belongs.

Sayo Mitsuishi is an artist/hypnotist who draws live using both hands simultaneously. She creates a symmetry as gesture rather than representation, using drawing "as a way of recording the body's intricate dance with music." Please adopt animals from local animal care facilities, rescue groups, and shelters rather than purchasing them from breeders or pet stores, and have your companion animals spayed or neutered.
Did you know that if everyone in LA who already has a cat adopted just one shelter cat around every 15 years, not one would have to die? Look on http://laanimalservices.com/adoptsearchphotos.htm to choose one of them today!
