Opening this weekend + Future Hogan Performance + Other event.

Between People - four artists on connecting
Opening this Saturday, August 11th from 7-10pm
Friends,
Joineth us this Saturday evening, August 11th as we host the opening  
of Between People - four artists on connecting. As go-betweens and  
conduits, the four artists of Between People investigate  
interpersonal dynamics and acts of relating. From post-modern dance  
to group-dynamic workshops, the drawings, scripts as well as public  
and intimate encounters of Marc Herbst (from individual conversations  
with Katie Balcher, David Burns and Evan Holloway), Robby Herbst,  
Adam Overton and Hana van der Kolk explore acting on the desire to  
reach out and touch some one. Between People was organized by Robby  
Herbst.

It's summer - come on out.

Upcoming: John Hogan performing Friars and Bacchae in Conflict
Saturday, Aug. 25th, 8pm
Mark thine calendars for on Saturday, August 25th we will host a live  
storytelling event, Frairs and Bacchae in Conflict, wherein John P.  
Hogan will relate the story of a group of outgoing friars who, having  
been commissioned to travel to The New World in order to convert the  
native populations, find themselves instead abandoned on the shores  
of an island populated entirely by followers and priestesses of  
Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and debauchery. Make a note now and  
we'll remind you just before.

Other exhibitions to be seen with your eyes
Me & You Variety Candy Los Angeles will be hosting an exhibition/fund  
raising event this Saturday just over the way in Frogtown. They'll  
have video screenings and small works for sale by many artists with  
proceeds headed toward wetland restoration in Louisiana. A proper run- 
down of the event can be read here.

Locations and such:
David Patton Los Angeles is located on York Blvd., a chip-shot east  
of Avenue 50 on the south side of the street. We are right next door  
to Johnny's (the bar) and a few doors down from The York, a pub,  
which means food. Both are open late as is, apparently El Chapin,  
next door on the other side, serving short order stuff - tacos and  
what not. At least they were open late last weekend. According to our  
friends at the Google we are a scant 10 minutes jaunt from Chinatown.  
The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday, from 12-6pm as well as  
by appointment 'natch.
