Nicholas Chase joins L.A. composer/improviser Karl Montevirgin in a
performance of guitar and electronics. The duo share the set with
long time Cold Blue (www.coldbluemusic.com) artists Jon Fink and
Marty Walker (Ghost Duo) at Los Angeles' premiere spot for cutting
edge performance and art, Dangerous Curve gallery.

Nicholas Chase has received numerous awards for his work including
the Andy Warhol Prize given jointly by the Philadelphia Classical
Symphony and the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts. Chase has been
hailed as "brilliant" by Strad Magazine. The Los Angeles Times calls
his work "flamboyant, avant-garde...brawling yet taut...the Rite of
Spring meets Metallica." and the LA Weekly wrote "the human brain at
its most imaginative," and "pushing the edge of audio-visual
improv." (www.nicholaschase.net)

Karl Montevirgen is a composer/improviser and experimentalist whose
works cover a diverse range of experimental music and sound-making.
Montevirgin earned his MFA in Music Composition and Critical Studies/
Writing from the California Institute of the Arts and will release
new recording of his work, Systems of Excess, in December 2006.

In their debut performance as a duo December 3rd, Chase and
Montevirgin will work improvisationally, experimenting with complex
palettes of electronic sound and music to create temporal fields of
sonic expression.
