more details and full schedule coming soon!!Signify, Sanctify, Believe (SSB) is a semi-secular artist collective invested in the gentle, temporary, playful exploration of [semi-]fictional religious technologies. On Friday May 11, 2012, SSB will begin its much-anticipated pilgrimage to the holy city of Portland, Oregon. During this journey up the coast, SSB Pilgrims plan to visit various holy creative sites in San Francisco, Mt. Shasta and elsewhere, communing with each location through artist-led rites.
Upon arriving in Portland around Tuesday May 15th, and lasting through Sunday May 20th, SSB Pilgrims will embark upon a week of artist-facilitated services, sermons and workshops while in residence at Xhurch, a repurposed church and arts venue in NE Portland. These events will be led by LA-based SSB artists as well as Portland locals and other travelers, creating an etheric cross-pollination of thought and invention. At Xhurch we will temporarily initiate any visitors or seekers, inviting them into our order of creative spiritual experimentation and sanctified dabbling.
Xhurch will also host SSB’s Library of Sacred Technologies reading room, a collection of dozens of found and newly-created pamphlets, including over 20 designed and published by SSB that feature the sacred works of Los Angelenian artists, performers, and writers.
SSB’s week in Portland will lead up to and last through the Open Engagement Conference at PSU (5/18-5/20), where SSB PerMissionaries will be spreading the gospel of creative religious experimentation, and informing conference-goers of the magical activities occurring after-hours at Xhurch over the weekend.
Xhurch (pronounced: church) is a small arts venue operated by Matt Henderson at a repurposed church in NE Portland. Xhurch is best known for its ongoing lecture series, its documentation efforts re: 'repurposed churches' (http://xhurches.org), and its recent Alien Nativity, which garnered national media attention. Matt Henderson is an interdisciplinary artist, writer and musician.

Donate to the Eternal Telethon, video by Niko Solorio, Alexis Disselkoen, and Adam Overton of the Eternal Telethon, a re-make of Chris Burden's Send me your money
Cirrus is very pleased to announce Open Network, the final installment of its Once Emerging, Now Emerging series. Hinged to the website oncenowexhibition.com, the exhibition presents itself with gestures on technology, community, innovation and performance. A comment on networking, the exhibition and website highlight important examples of artists bringing ideas of collaboration and presentation to the forefront of contemporary art. A great example is found in UK artist Alan Dunn's The sounds of ideas forming, CD editions, 2008-date; a listening station compiled from over 200 tracks put together by the artist retrieved through artists varying from Lydia Lunch to a German audio transcribed from a letter by Gerhard Richter. Envisioned by Cirrus founder Jean Milant, Open Network and oncenowexhibition.com propose a context built on a history that expands upon the future of where and how art is exhibited. Cirrus has also invited the gallery Actual Size to mount an exhibition that presents several artists in the gallery's lead up to a book exhibition at their Chinatown location later this year.
Artists and Groups Include: Artobjectculture.net (Lucy Chinen and Emilie Gervais), Chris Burden, Andrew Cox, Allen Dunn, Michael Decker, Eternal Telethon, Corey Fogel, Jack Goldstein, Peregrine Honig (Bravo's Work of Art), Human Resources and Geoff Tuck (Notes On Looking)

New Performances by
. . .
Nathan Bockelman is a silly guy, who installs 'art work' and does 'performance' and eventually feels good about doing it. He offers an array of awkward moments and shrill advice for those who listen and watch him.
Megan May Daalder is a self-styled guinea pig using video, performance, and science to investigate life on earth. She has a BA from UCLA's Design Media Arts department, but most of what she knows has been passed down from her radical Dutch ancestors and a pinball wizard from Tennessee.
Adam Overton likes John Burtle a lot. He also really likes Megan May Daalder and Nathan Bockelman.

1–4pm, a Massage Basics Workshop for Artistsfacilitated by Adam Overton
Some very basic training will be provided to develop your rudimentary massage skills, where we'll explore some simple strategies for the use of hands, fingers, forearms and elbows, and for listening through touch. Massage will occur while seated in folding chairs, and won't involve any extra equipment, nor any creams or oils, and participants will remain clothed throughout. Arriving solo is totally fine, but if rubbing strangers or semi-strangers seems odd, feel free to bring a partner you trust.
All participants in Massage Basic Workshops with Adam Overton are invited to practice their newfound massage skills during any future experimental music & massage events!
Adam Overton is an artist, performer, and certified massage therapist (since 2007)...
Some tea and water will be provided, but please BYOSnacks.

21 August 2010 – Chris Kallmyer and Scott Cazan doing a wonderful interpretation of Paraphrase Piece in the Little William Theater at the Hammer Museum – paraphrasing Douglas Barrett's piece Four Realizations of Place Feed-Forward.
11 September 2010 – Another version of Paraphrase Piece, performed by Daniel Corral and Isaac Schankler (not sure what piece they're paraphrasing).
Not sure what date, possibly 7 August 2010 – Another version of Paraphrase Piece, performed by Andrew McIntosh and Andrew Tholl – apparently paraphrasing a Peter Ablinger piece.
And here's a short, year-end wrap-up compilation video showing bits of the many, many pieces that were performed in the Little William Theater Festival in 2010.
