artSpa presents: a free D.I.Y. Massage Workshop
with Adam Overton

Explore some basic, but highly effective massage and touch techniques that don't require getting undressed or using any cream, oil, or special equipment - all we'll need are our hands, fingers, forearms, elbows, gravity, a little common sense, and the willingness to listen to our partner. No former massage experience required! Please come with someone you trust, or be willing to trust another participant for the duration of the workshop.

 

* Participants in this workshop are highly encouraged, but not required, to donate some of their new-found massage skills during a brief 45-60 minute massage shift the following weekend, Saturday, February 28th between 7-10pm, as part of the experimental music & massage series.

 

Cost: Free
RSVP: space is limited to 7 to 10 couples, so please send an RSVP at least two days in advance: a@plus1plus1plus.org       
Necessary materials (per couple): two pillows, a blanket or two, something comfortable to wear, and pen/paper to take notes

 

Adam Overton is a composer, performer, and certified massage therapist living in Los Angeles.

Saturday February 28th, 7 - 10pm

 

artSpa proudly presents some therapeutic experimental music & massage at the Eagle Rock Arts Center. Live experimental music will be provided by several composer/performers, while Adam Overton and his newly-formed army of amateur massage therapists (numbering currently in the single-digits, but growing) provide complimentary bodywork for the public. This event is being held in conjunction with the closing reception for the exhibition, Needle In A Haystack.
