Mission Creek Music Festival's Collision series
Fri, 18 May 2007

. . .

Artist Katie Vida curated a portion of this San Franciscan festival at The LAB and graciously invited me and several fabulous others to perform. There were performances all week, but I was there Friday, 18 May, along with Corey Fogel, Lucky Dragons, and others.

this is what I told them I would going to do:
Composer / performer Adam Overton will present some intimate experiments in [co]presence. Overton's work often incorporates a variety of materials ranging from teardrops to digital noise.

I ended up performing two pieces: Solo for Guitar, and then the ensemble piece, For any acoustic instrument, featuring the virtuosic crying talents of Ezra Buchla, Corey Fogel, Hana van der Kolk, Mahsa Matin, and myself.

from the Mission Creek Music Fest website:

* The Mission Creek Music Festival's Collision series is back at The LAB for the second year in a row, highlighting cross-disciplinary performance, which has been a staple of The LAB's artistic tradition. Collision marks a departure in programming for the celebrated indie music series--defined by the spirit of collaboration, Collision showcases local and international music acts collaborating with artists working in mediums such as video, film, dance, theater, and media arts. The results are sure to challenge, stimulate, and surprise all audiences seeking the latest in experimental music and performance. Lucky Dragons, Kevin Blechdom, and James Goode are some of the featured artists confirmed so far.
