[RECIPES]
VegWeb.com | vegetarian and vegan recipes online
[MACROBIOTICS]
... A philosophy of eating as opposed to a dogma, Macrobiotics (as I see it) is based around balancing your diet while taking into account a lot of factors surrounding your lifestyle, location, etc (hence the Macro-). It especially emphasizes eating fresh fruits and vegetables that are grown in your same latitude (climate), and recommends against consuming processed foods. In a way, it looks at your body as a sort of chemistry beaker where everything you ingest affects the processes within you, and proceeds with the hope that giving yourself a heightened awareness of these processes and understanding your body's needs more fully will enable you to make more insightful decisions about what, when and how to eat, leading to a greater well-being and the ability to make meals that cater to your long-term and immediate needs.
That's just my take on it, however, there may be lots of differing opinions on the matter...

BASIC STAMPS
Great for beginners, it's just way expensive compared to PICs. For example Stamps costs $50 each while a typical PIC of equal or better quality might cost around $3-$6 each. But, Parallax makes it very easy to get started with their Stamp, whearas PICs are a bit more cryptic. In any case, check out my page for beginners if you're interested in getting started...

PIC MICROCONTROLLERS
In my opinion, PIC chips are the way to go; They're so much cheaper and more efficient than Basic Stamps; They just require slightly more know-how to harness their abilities, but not much more.
Breaking News: You can now program PICs using Mac OSX. You'll need 'gputils', 'picp', a USB-to-Serial Adaptor, a PICStartPlus PIC burner, and some knowledge of assembly or C... As I learn more about pics this summer, I will be providing tutorials and more helpful links in my Resources section... In the meantime, there's plenty of online resources out there, waiting...
